A poem for the times we live in

Believing in Humanity

In a house full of aggression, a child has no choice but learn to fight.

In a world of humiliation, a child finds himself taking a step back from life.

In a home of contempt and disarray, a child feels worthless and ashamed.

When a child receives acceptance he learns values and trust.

When a child experiences equality, he receives justice and freedom.

When a child has a sanctuary, he has optimism and hope.

When a child can look into his parent’s eyes, he knows he is loved.
